With organic labels popping up everywhere from baby food aisles to skin care lines; Toronto based Bamboo Lily™ is taking over the clothing aisle too! Local designer Lillian Chiu started the company when she discovered that her Goddaughter suffered from eczema – a common skin reaction to allergens affecting more babies each year. Lillian looked to offer a line that is mostly all natural, without chemically treated fabrics that can irritate baby’s sensitive skin.
Lillian has an extensive background in design and is a graduate of Seneca’s Fashion Arts Program. Combining her natural ability to create and her growing concern for the environment, Lillian decided to whip up a chic line of Asian-inspired baby and toddler clothing using the ultimate in sustainable living: rayon from bamboo fabric.
Bamboo Lily is the ultimate in green luxury! Rayon from Bamboo fabric is a renewable resource that has a cashmere-like texture, and is so incredibly soft.
Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world – making it a sustainable and renewable resource.
Bamboo is also eco-friendly as it doesn’t need pesticides or fertilizers to grow. It wicks moisture from the skin; keeping baby’s delicate skin cool and dry. Why wouldn’t anyone choose bamboo?
‘Made in Canada’ is just better! All our fabrics and garments are made locally, right here in Toronto. While some may argue that it is cheaper to manufacture overseas, we believe in supporting our local economy. Quality over quantity! The choice is that simple.
Who could resist the fabulous designs? Hooded Bath Robes monogrammed with “Miso Cute”, and cheeky pictures silk-screened on their Onesie and T’s. Bamboo Lily™ is revolutionizing green gear for babies! The perfect gift for any new baby - fashion and function meets utter environmental chic!
